@+1 : I always keep extra water. Not bottled water ( I hate all that plastic waste), but I reuse juice jugs, and fill them with water and store in pantry/garage. You never know when water could be cut off. Can be used for toilet flushing too.
@Kemibe : I meant I've never tried making Gumbo. There's this place in Freeport, The Red Snapper, that you have a choice of gumbo or salad and most often I choose the gumbo when I remember. There used to be a little shack place in Galveston that had good gumbo but I think it left after the last hurricane. I'd try to make it but my guys won't touch it, I am sure.
Last night Costco was pretty much cleared out of their big cases of water but had other waters. I had my son meet me after work to help get some water in both vehicles and we bought dog food and liquor but forgot the water. At least, the dog will have plenty of food and we will be happy.
I think a lot of the water stockpiling is because of the water main break...jmo I think people need to be more concerned right now with the Flu... Again, jmo
@FNULNU1954 : The original owner has semi retired so it depends on who's managing the place and lately it hasn't been great when we have gone. I always thought their fried shrimp was the best anywhere. I'd try all their specials but they usually didn't agree with me. Our beach friends that live in Oklahoma look forward to going there and always tease me because I will go but think the SeaHorse is better. It's a tradition for them but just food for me. LOL
