I'm putting together this little survival group. We're gonna call it the Saviors. Who's in?

Going grocery shopping this weekend regardless so I'm buy some extra meats and non-perishable side choices, couple cases of water, and paper products, just in case. I have room to store them and we'll use them anyway. I was just thinking with the flu/strep season, I'd prefer to not have to go as often as I normally would.
I'm not too concerned about the Coronavirus here yet but we all know, if they confirm multiple cases of it here, it's going to be pure madness. We've been through the flooding but this would also be a disaster so I have that in my head like, what if ?

When it gets here, I just hope people will put that pride away and take some sick time off. Too many urban warriors out there going to work half dead thinking they'll get praised for it.

I went today & spent $399.36 & the woman exclaimed I saved $22.68 to which I said had I stayed home I'd have saved $399.36 that might of been a better choice ? Not really I like having cooked food in the freezer & have done it my entire life . Most of the places out here the food is awful to me so I like having stuff completed or 1/2 completed in the freezer . Saves me time & the every day mess of cooking . So I will make a huge pot of veg & beef soup . Then a huge pot of Chicken & sausage gumbo . Meatloaf Roast & a few other things if I can fit it into my 2 freezers. Got lots of Tuna & saltine crackers . I'm not going to be able to store much bread . Got dry red beans , navy beans & black eyed peas & rice . Cheese , Sweet potatoes all kinds of meat . Oh & spam !!!! I cook it & we like it OK . With all the hurricane's we've been through you ALWAYS have to have spam !!!

@bbk : You lost me at Spam only because I haven't had it since leaving home many many years. I think being prepared is good. I should cook up some stuff in case I did get sick but my son is a pretty good cook so he could do it. We could live on frozen pizza's if we had no choice. I'd love t make gumbo! I've never tried it!

@ladybeachbum : I can eat pizza maybe 3 x per year & that's enough for me . When the girls were young they wanted Mc Donalds or Pizza Inn & I ate enough of that at that time to last me a lifetime . I really don't like fast foods .Not that I don't eat it some times because I do . But I'm just tolerating it .

@bbk : It all depends on the degree of hunger. I can usually find something that I am happy to eat.

@MooMaw :

Right?!

I'll add that he got frustrated when I came home with extra water, and non perishable items on Monday. Said I was over board...🙄

I just told him if it came to it, I wasn't sharing. 😉
