Back in my younger days, I had no issue having a little fun with co-workers...now that I'm older, nope. They don't need to see me in that light, and I definitely don't want to see them in it either. Plus, now that I'm old, a party night entails having more than one adult beverage and staying up past 9 pm...I've changed a little Emoticon

Students were not present. That ends the debate for me.

I worked at an engineering company on the west side and a couple of coworkers were caught on camera doing it in the parking lot. One of their spouses also worked there. Opps!

Kinda wild for on premises. Teachers do have to have some decorum even if you don't feel it necessary. Someone will usually see and say something if not at a private venue. I just wish they would have more sense. I had a parent approach & admonish me once after she had seen me smoking in my car while driving, miles from the school. I told her she didn't have any right to talk to me about it, because it was off school grounds. She tried to take it to the school board. Luckily they sided with me.

I'm just thinking I am glad there were no cell phones when I was partying long ago. I'm going to say it probably wasn't a good idea to have it on premises.

Really?? Do we have to pick apart everything in this country. More important fish to fry than teachers having fun at their Christmas party with no minors around. So over all of you sensitive peeps. Grow a pair!

Public Service Announcement: We now live in a day and age where you have to assume just about anything you do outside the confines of your home will most likely be posted on social media. Yes it's a crappy way to live and it might make some paranoid but better that than to find yourself suspended or unemployed.

So in that vain these educated professional people should have calculated the risk they were taking. Their folly was believing that they were among like minded colleagues and their associates wouldn't betray them in this way. Now they are paying the price of at least being embarrassed in front of their students because of course they've seen the video.

Insofar as punishment I don't think they should face disciplinary action. If I were in charge my only admonishment would be that in the future they party off campus and require that everyone in attendance leave their phones outside the venue. Emoticon

@rocket : Actually, the administration should have nothing to say about the party except it was not allowed on State (it is State?) property because it puts them in a liability for what happens.

Let them have fun. It's on their own time and some teacher should NOT have videoed anyway. They have to put up with high school kids everyday -

@ladybeachbum :

In my opinion to believe the administration will say nothing is not realistic. Employees are held to account for all sorts of stuff done on their own time, let alone something that brings negative press. Not to mention the fact that in this case it was a result of actions on school property.

That said as I stated previously I don't think there should be disciplinary action in regards to this particular incident. But I can almost guarantee they will get a talking to.

@ladybeachbum : I totally agree. You just open yourselves up for a whole bunch of whatevers, can be misconstrued into anything.

@Mommy : What? I'm not sensitive at all, but when you work for a place that is constantly under a microscope, throwing a party where the women are dancing around looking like strippers, it just doesn't seem too smart. If there was alcohol involved, then they're downright dumb. Not sure how old you are but most teachers should at least be of age to have common sense. I've been to wild teacher parties, but we never had them on campus, and I've never seen anyone act like this.
