@Vinbert : Sorry it is. 😔 I've been wondering for years when he was going to. My previous gyno was a woman and I got a nasty letter when I asked for my records so I could switch to him. I've seen people give her good recommendations and I'm thinking that was totally not my experience.

@MrsT : Could you please PM me the name of your previous doctor? The female one? I'm thinking of switching. I'm wondering if it is the same lady that I used. I've only been to her once, but was not really impressed. I don't want to switch to someone else who isn't an improvement.

@MrsT : I guess I better get in for an exam!
So, long story, but he was my ob-gyn when I had my son 25 years ago! I loved him! We moved back to PA, because my father in law was ill, and someone had to take care of him. He passed, and after several years, we decided to move back down here. I was going to someone at Care for Women, and frankly, while she started off ok, it just started to go downhill. She didn't listen to me, I would ask a question, she would give me this monotone answer that didn't even answer the question that I had asked... so I started looking around, never thinking that Dr. Schettler was still in practice... and he was! I once asked him when/if he was going to retire, and his response was, "And do what? Die?" Emoticon I'm certainly going to miss him, and he's going to be hard to replace.

@Vinbert : I switched to him about 20 years ago. He delivered my 3 kids. I've been looking for a pcp also, the one I tried a few months back was meh. She asked where I worked and when I told her she asked if I had a five year plan. Lady I'm in my 40s, that ship has sailed. 😂

I'm still shopping around some 18 months later. The girl that catmae recommended did pretty well EXCEPT she charges $85.00 which is a bit much for me. The good thing was, though, that I ran into someone I know while I was entering the salon (Tuscany) who is uses a different stylist there. She is pleased with her stylist and that stylist charges less. I think she said $60.00 or $65.00. A good bit less. I'll give her a try next time.

@RajunCajun : My stylist generally charges $65 and I am happy with that.

@MrsT : Watch out for Wellspire, in the search for a PCP. I was going there, and they have kinda switched to that "we want you here every 3 months so we can charge your insurance" mindset. The one I was seeing at Wellspire actually refused to refer me to a cardiologist for my blood pressure, even though the medication prescribed was not working. So, I finally just referred myself to a cardiologist, and the day after I saw her, and started the new prescription that the cardiologist prescribed, my bp was down in the 120's again.
They want that recurring money over all at this point. My husband is going through pretty much the same thing with them, and his diabetes. I have not managed to get him to make the jump yet.
The cardiologist has given me some recs for PCP. When I dig them up, I'll post them.

@Vinbert : Wow. That's crazy. I like Dr. Wang at Wellspire in Humble. Very thorough and kind. OTOH, my dh decided to use the dermatologist at Wellspire since we'd had such a good experience with Dr. Wang. The derm sucked big time. Will not use again.

@RajunCajun : Yeah, when I first started going there, during the shut down, all was well. It's been within the last year that they've started doing this.
For example: my husband is a Type 2 diabetic. So, he's on meds all the time. However, they will only give him a 3 month prescription, and make him come in every 3 months before they will renew them. It's literally, "what's up" blah blah blah, and then they renew the prescriptions. They were doing the same to me with the BP meds. The last time, I had been exposed to Covid- so they set up a virtual appointment. She literally said, "So, why are we seeing you today?" Umm, because you refuse to renew my prescription without seeing me?
OTOH, the cardiologist, now that we've done all the tests, and yada yada, I won't see her for a year.

@Vinbert : Wondering who the heck ever got the idea to design a hair styling system that hooks up to a vacuum cleaner?!! Honestly, they must have been on some serious drugs to come up with that idea.

@RajunCajun : Well, I have a dog grooming tool that hooks up to my Dyson... it doesn't cut though, just de-sheds.
Similar concept though!
And my guess would be a mom who had to cut kid's hair all the time, and it was a mess, and uneven.
