It's not even Groundhog Day yet. I think Phil will have something to say (well he never says anything) or should that be see anything about it.

@Cbear : Yes, I hope so. This is not cold weather country! I doubt it is over though. I remember some spring break days that the wind was so cold on the beach it would cut off your leg if you didn't move fast enough. I hope for 70's until August.

@ladybeachbum : It does seem like it is always cold for spring break when the kids want to go to the beach. Sad.

@Cbear : That wind on the beach side is brutal. We used to have guest come from Indiana but it was too cold. You never know here though we are not normal!!!

@Cbear : wiki says:
Punxsutawney Phil is a groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania who is the central figure in the borough's annual Groundhog Day celebration. On February 2 each year, Punxsutawney holds a civic festival with music and food. During the ceremony, which begins well before the winter sunrise, Phil emerges from his temporary home on Gobbler's Knob, located in a rural area about 2 miles southeast of town. According to the tradition, if Phil sees his shadow and returns to his hole, he has predicted six more weeks of winter-like weather. If Phil does not see his shadow, he has predicted an "early spring." Punxsutawney's event is the most famous of the many Groundhog Day festivals held in the United States and Canada. The event formally began in 1887, although its roots go back even farther.

@eighteen :

Fine... we still have 3.5 months to go. We are getting a bit more daylight and the temps have been nice, high 20s to low 40s.

@sandman : I know it is a different cold because my family that lived there would be cold here on a spring day but not there. So, when you go out, do you wear a parka or something like that?

It needs to stop raining, for a while. My yard is a swamp.

@ladybeachbum :

No, I just wear a jacket, gloves and a neck gaiter. The parka is for when it's below 0 or if I'm staying outdoors for a while. The other day I went walking on a trail for 1 hr and had the parka on.
