I am not a pumpkin spice fan. I do like fresh pumpkin but not the artificially flavored pumpkin spice lattes or pumpkin spice candy. I have a good recipe for pumpkin risotto that calls for roasted fresh pumpkin. I also make a good pumpkin bread that uses canned pumpkin. And pumpkin stew on Halloween that uses cubed pumpkin instead of potatoes. All very good but made with fresh or canned pumpkin.
It's that time of the year, or close to it. Many of you will be buying canned pumpkin, myself included. Humor me a bit and read the ingredients on the can. Don't worry, no eye of newt or frog toes, but let me know what you find.....
