@chasinghosts: Several years ago when I survived my KW hospital 7 day stay, I had lost 20 pounds and couldn't eat -- much less keep anything down. I forced myself to drink Gatorade to prevent dehydration (usually it came right back up and caused stomach pains, too). After being home almost 1 week, I (forced) started eating flan, rice pudding, toast with butter and baby food (bananas, pears and some veggies). At first, I struggled to keep even water down and the stomach pain was horrible. After a few weeks eating like this, I graduated to baked potatoes with butter and poached eggs. I couldn't stomach dairy (milk or cheese), but the flan and pudding were life savers!!
It was a long process, tiny portions through out the day.
