He certainly had the right to defend himself, his employees and his property. But, I can't help but think about the very real possibility that a bullet could have hit someone in the parking lot or driving by on 1960.

@Sammee : He was shooting through a glass pane to start with. That took a lot of energy off the projectile. To leave the store it would have to go through the store front. At that point I doubt it would make it to the parking lot. Might hit someone if they were standing in front of the store. Of course all this depends on what he was shooting. I've known Delton for 35 years I'm sure he took all this into account when deciding how to protect his business. The two bad guys that were hit were able to drive back to Channelview so I don't believe their wounds were substantial.
