we sat down this week with Travis Thompson, owner of Motorwerks Auto Group.
Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
Motorwerks
Auto Group was established in Humble in 2007. We offer dealer level
service, while providing budget friendly pricing and top-notch customer
service. Our technicians are ACE-Certified, specializing in European
luxury, sport, and exotic vehicle services. We take care of everything
from check engine light diagnostics, brake repair, and tire changes to
upgrades and off-road customizations.
How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
I
joined the company as a service advisor in 2009 and worked my way up to
service manager. I purchased the business in 2017 and have been running
it ever since.
Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
We
are proud to be known as the Houston area luxury European and exotic
car experts. We pride ourselves on getting to know our customers and
their vehicles. Our team has a combined 30 years of experience and
extensive training that allows us to be the best team in the boutique
automobile industry. Additionally, we are the only dealer alternative in
Houston for McLaren repair and maintenance, utilizing McLaren
diagnostic software.
What is your favorite part of running this business?
I love that every day is a new challenge!
Who is your target market or your ideal customer/client?
Our ideal customers are owners of luxury European or exotic vehicles.
Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
We have recently added a 4-wheel drive/truck accessory shop, MW4 Outfitters, that will open in July. This shop will
be located next door and will provide off-road customization for those
that enjoy overlanding, rock crawling, or just getting a little mud on
your tires. We will offer lift kits, gear changes, wheel and tire
packages, bumpers, winches, lighting upgrades, custom fabrication, just
to name a few.
How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
In
the next few years we have plans to open a car dealership, along with
continuing to serve Houston with the best boutique automobile service
possible.
