Cbear : Back when we first moved back here, there was a little snow on a Friday afternoon. And we're talking.. tiny amount. Wasn't even sticking to the roads at all, and not cold enough to freeze. Everything started shutting down...My son was in middle school at the time, and they were doing oral reports. Apparently, every time a kid got up to do their report, the PA would go off, announcing their parent was there to pick them up. So, the teacher calls my son up, and says, "I suppose your mom will be here to pick you up too..." He looked at her and said, "Ma'am, we're Yankees. My mother is NOT coming to pick me up, and chances are, where ever she is, she's sitting there laughing at all this..." Needless to say, he was correct! and btw, they shut everything down, and by 4 pm, the sun was shining, and there wasn't a flake anywhere....
@Vinbert : Accurate portrayal of Texans however, we DO power through the 100 plus temps so we are not total weenies! LOL!
