Cbear : errrr... yerp! I also enjoy the fact that if we see a flake of snow here, I don't have to go anywhere! When we had to move back to PA in the 90's, I went back under one condition... that I never had to drive in the snow/ice again! Down here, I'm fine with it, it's never like it is up there. My issue with it here is the other drivers!

Back when we first moved back here, there was a little snow on a Friday afternoon. And we're talking.. tiny amount. Wasn't even sticking to the roads at all, and not cold enough to freeze. Everything started shutting down...My son was in middle school at the time, and they were doing oral reports. Apparently, every time a kid got up to do their report, the PA would go off, announcing their parent was there to pick them up. So, the teacher calls my son up, and says, "I suppose your mom will be here to pick you up too..." He looked at her and said, "Ma'am, we're Yankees. My mother is NOT coming to pick me up, and chances are, where ever she is, she's sitting there laughing at all this..."
Needless to say, he was correct! and btw, they shut everything down, and by 4 pm, the sun was shining, and there wasn't a flake anywhere....

@Cbear : As a native Texan, they just talked funny! He didn't but his actions got his Yankee! You would think he would have it out of his system since he has been living a Texan longer than he was there. He hates this weather and it was far worse there.

I grew up in a beautiful, picturesque college town in Keene, New Hampshire. I went on a 2 week vacation to Fort Collins, Colorado to visit college roommates from Massachusetts who had transferred to CSU. While there, I met a really cute Texan from Houston, and never flew home to N.H. Long story short, we married in Fort Collins and moved to Houston 6 months later. That was over 45 years ago and to this day, I prefer New England weather ðŸ¥¶ to the monstrous Texas heat. Hubs, however, is just the opposite! ðŸ˜‚ As the old saying goes, "Opposites attract!"

OMG! That is SNOW! We had a storm that piled up almost to the roof on one side. As a kid I thought it was great but I bet my Momma didn't!

@Vinbert : Accurate portrayal of Texans however, we DO power through the 100 plus temps so we are not total weenies! LOL!
