My walking iris is blooming!!

My walking iris is blooming!!

Last night when I took the puppy out I noticed my walking iris had about 16 buds on it. So I knew today I would be blessed with about 16 beautiful flowers. I love this plant. I have never seen one like it. The flowers smell citrusy and they are just beautiful. Happy Saturday friends!

Gorgeous. I need to get dh to plant some of these! We have some flowers that are budding and sprouted up quickly from seeds. Dh is working in the yard - that's his "thing". I commented to him how pretty they are, and he said that it was dumb luck. He just took some seeds and chucked them in there.

I think that the simplest things like this are the most joyful. No need to have a lot of money to be able to enjoy life.

@RajunCajun : I have seen several varieties of walking irises for sale at local garden centers but never this exact one. I have been on the lookout for it though.

@Cbear : Probably about 10 years. It was a shoot off from one of our neighbors and she gave it to me. I lost half of it in the February freeze last year but I'm so thankful it came back.

@Cbear : Honestly I have no idea. Had to either Warren's or Kingwood Garden Center and they do have some for sale there. Not the same variety. But I'm sure they would know the answer to your question. Good luck!
