@rajuncajun what's the story on that boat with the lifting bow ? Is it ferrying golf carts?

@ginx: probably given the number of golf carts that are in my hood.

I love the water. Doesn't matter if it is a pool, lake, river, etc. My former home in baton rouge didn't have a body of water anywhere nearby except for my pool. I loved lake deussen when I was over there. But now I have the river just a few miles away. I enjoyed the constant breeze in Atascocita. Thought I would miss that. But I don't because now I have the breeze from the river. It is heaven. And I get to have my baby girl come over on Saturday for Hamburgers. I'm so happy!

I had 2 women who were from Quebec ask me about the levee. They were doing a road trip. They said that they thought that they would be able to see the river from the road. They wanted to know what the levee was. English is not their first language so they asked. "What is this land?: while standing on the levee. I gave them a quick explanation that snow melt from the north ends up traveling south via the Mississippi which can cause flooding. Explained that the levees and a complex flood gate system keeps us from all washing away. 🙂

@ladybeachbum: on the surface, it appears to be a gentle current but there's always a very dangerous undertow just under the surface. I have walked down the levee to the river. but i always keep a good distance away so that I don't risk falling in. Very likely that if you fall in, you won't get out.

@RajunCajun : Oh man! I know I have been to the river somewhere but I don't remember where. I rarely get in the surf here unless my Goddaughter's kids are here and they make me crazy getting too far out but at least Mom or Dad is watching.
