Stranger Danger Notice for Humble Middle School
From Humble ISD:
Humble Middle School: November 1, 2022
November 1, 2022
Dear Humble Middle School Families,
We want to take every precaution for our students’ safety. With that in mind, I am sharing information with you about a stranger danger incident that was reported today.
This morning one of our 7th grade students was walking to the bus stop at Morning Dove Drive and Red Bird Ridge Drive. A man driving a black pick-up truck pulled up alongside the student and asked if the student wanted a ride to school. The student described the driver as an African American male, possibly in his early 40’s. The student told the man no and he proceeded to drive away; however, he then pulled up to the bus stop and stayed at the bus stop for a few minutes before driving away.
Campus Administrators contacted the students' parents and notified Humble ISD Police.
This is a good opportunity to emphasize the following safety tips with your children:
If anything unusual occurs, tell an adult immediately. Parents and teachers need to know what happened right away.
Walk or bike to and from school in groups.
Never talk to strangers or accept rides from them.
Arrange for immediate access to neighbors and other trusted adults who could answer questions or be contacted in an emergency.
Tour the neighborhood with your child to identify safe and dangerous circumstances.
Never get into a car, enter a home, look for a lost pet, or accept candy or toys from an adult, unless your parents know what you are doing and have given you their permission first.
Please report any safety concerns to school staff, Humble ISD Police at 281-641-7900, or through the Humble ISD iHELP app.
Sincerely,
Jerrell Barron
Principal
