Stranger Danger Notice for Atascocita Middle School
From Humble ISD:
Atascocita Middle School: December 8, 2022
December 8, 2022
Dear Atascocita Middle School Parents,
We want to take every precaution for our students’ safety. With that in mind, I am sharing information with you about a stranger danger incident that was reported today.Â
Yesterday after school, two of our 6th grade students were walking home from school near the intersection of Atasca Woods and Rosebud Bend Drive. A man driving a black sedan slowed down near the students and rolled down the window. The students reported the man hollered at them to “come hereâ€. The students said “no†and walked off in the opposite direction of where they were headed. The man stayed in his car and continued to watch the students. The students were able to make it home safely without any further interaction from the man. The man was described as African American, middle aged, with dreadlocks.
This is a good opportunity to emphasize the following safety tips with your children:
If anything unusual occurs, tell an adult immediately. Parents and teachers need to know what happened right away.Â
Walk or bike to and from school in groups.
Never talk to strangers or accept rides from them.Â
Arrange for immediate access to neighbors and other trusted adults who could answer questions or be contacted in an emergency.Â
Tour the neighborhood with your child to identify safe and dangerous circumstances.Â
Never get into a car, enter a home, look for a lost pet, or accept candy or toys from an adult, unless your parents know what you are doing and have given you their permission first.Â
Please report any concerns to school staff, Humble ISD Police at 281-641-7900, or through the Humble ISD iHELP app. Â
Sincerely,Â
Karl Koehler Â
