Sixteen Humble ISD students have been named National Merit Commended Students.

These students rank in the top three percent of the nationâ€™s high school seniors.

Congrats to them. But it is a little concerning that Atascocita High, Summer Creek, and Humble didn't have even ONE National Merit graduate?

It is very disturbing and they should take note. I also notice there is a racial group that is not represented at all here and it is wholly up to parents of Black children to get back in the limelight. I find this sad that priorities are again shifting to the wrong side for some people. Stop allowing your children to be lost in the school systems.

Also, I am very confused since Kingwood is now Houston, shouldn't they be under the blanket of Houston ISD? Do they pay taxes to Humble ISD or Houston??

@RajunCajun : Humble HS did have 1 National Merit Student but there is a huge discrepancy.

@sandman : Yes they are and there should be Black kids making the grades here like they do in other areas.
