Shooting on Madera Run

I already saw that on our neighborhood FB page. I can't handle much more of this. This is the second shooting in the groves in the past year.

@Sammee : I heard the sirens but thought maybe it was on tv and didn't think much of it. And then I saw the post on the FB page.

Crazy thing is, this is normally a fairly quiet neighborhood. This whole thing is nuts. This is why I don't like going out at night. But 6:30 in the evening isn't exactly "night". It is so scary because people walk on Madera Run often. The other drive-by took place around 6ish, too. I wonder if they are somehow connected. At any rate, an innocent bystander could easily be hit by a stray bullet.

RajunCajun : It's not like your area is inner city and crime infested. Those are some pricey houses. I assume it's either road rage or a drug deal gone bad, like what happened at Smallmart a couple of months ago.

@Sammee : Yep. I paid entirely too much for the actual house, the property taxes, and HOA fees on top of that. WTH?

@Sammee : Yeah. You make an excellent point. I love our home and neighborhood, but I'm seriously getting to the point where I'm ready to move far, far away.

RajunCajun: Unfortunately you really cannot move anywhere within the USA to get away from the crimine. All I think one can really do is to be prudent in your whereabouts, be vigilent in your awareness, and be adequately prepared to defend yourself, your family and your home to point of being able to stop any immediate threat.

@JSC65 : I agree -- to a point. But there are many places in the U.S. that have much less crime than here. I'm just sick of it. I really don't think that I'll stay here for more than about another three years.
