Our Senator!

Seems like he is scared of having kids know there ARE 10 Commandments. I wonder why? Are they that scary to him?

This is school not church. If people want to teach their kids about the commandments that's on them, take them to church.
What's worse is some of the people pushing hardest to put them up don't follow them.

MrsT : Is morals church? If you believe declining moral values among American youth is happening is having a display a bad thing? We do have a founding in this country and we do have a moral compass. Or we should, whether you go to church or not. Is it only church people who think killing or adultery is wrong? I hope not. Where does your moral compass come from? What tells you something is right or wrong?

You can be moral and not a Christian. You can know it's wrong to kill, steal and cheat without a 10 commandments poster on the wall. Mine come from being a decent human, I'm not religious. Hell is not a motivation for me to be kind to others.
Once again, these guys (let's use Paxton as an example) broke all kinds of commandments yet he's the one pushing them. What did they do for him? I know a whole lot of ****** people who claim to be Christians. Then they claim that without religion, their religion, you can't be a good person. Thats complete BS.

I support everyone's right to practice whatever religion they want, completely. But that does not involve pushing those choices on me or anyone else.

I think faith is a beautiful thing but it's just not my path. However I do cry every time Linus gives his what Christmas is all about speech. I think what really drove me away is this idea being pushed that you can't be a decent human without the threat of eternal damnation. It's important to me to be kind and not to judge. Am I perfect? Of course not but I try my best every day. Also I love the gays and theys. 😂

eighteen : Is that our culture, history and founding fathers take on what they created our country to be. We don't stop it but we sure shouldn't advocate for it.

MrsT : See, when you do not read the word of God you don't know what he says. You think something but have no true knowledge. Being decent does not keep you from eternal damnation. My question that I would like an answer to is where does your moral compass come from? Why do you think killing is wrong? What makes you think lying is wrong? Where in the heck does this thinking come from. There are some people who would just as soon slit your throat and not give it a second thought. They don't see a human life having any meaning. they mean nothing to them. Why is that? Why do that not have that moral compass. why are they not decent?

But I get what you're saying, so let's hang them up- right next to the core tenets of Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and that one that worships the giant spaghetti monster. I mean, if you don't follow them it doesn't affect you, right?
