It's amazing how/why people hate and judge Joel O'steen. Jealousy?
@ChloeW : Respectfully, I hardly doubt so. As Christians we are to uphold the truth that is that of the Bible, and expose false teachers (you may call it judgement). But like any other professed teacher of faith...they must be held to a doctrinal standard.
Osteen has problems with this. He is a "word of faith" type of preacher, which has a very fatal flaw, in it teaches all things can be made so, by saying the words. It is not scriptural, but only a concept practiced by many televangelist types. In reading his first book, he put out a number of years, I realized this what he is all about. Osteen says in his book...If you are in good standing with God, that helps you with the little things, like helping you find a good parking spot at the mall. Patently absurd in the light of scripture.
Again, as Christians, we have to call this kind of thing out as false.
