The new bonds at 1 and 2 million were cash, meaning exactly 1 and 2 million needed.

@Pinehurst : As much as people hate it, bond is a constitutional issue. Pretty much only slam dunk cases get no bond. Any fuzziness and bond is usually granted. Presumed innocent until proven guiltyThe first round bonds were not out of the ordinary really, Houston location not withstanding.*Adding context. Only 40% of murder defendants receive no bond. Those who do get bond, 25% are under $20K.

I remember it well. I was watching TV when I heard a bunch of sirens. I thought it was a bad accident. This was the second drive by shooting in our neighborhood in less than a years time. I never could shake that someone died in a drive by shooting less than 5 minutes from my house in a Sunday evening. It made moving out of there a fairly easy decision when I had the opportunity. There were other reasons, too, like being able to move closer to one of our daughters. So much that I loved about the area but I just couldn't get past that.
