You took my post way too literally. It's not about football and shirts. Geesh. Maybe you didn't grow up in a close knit, supportive community?

I think another point some are missing is...this came as a shock. There was an, a map, and then a meeting. People are processing. Adjusting. Venting. That's okay!

@HumbleGirl :It's okay, until you hear some of the vile **** ES people are saying about people that are supposed to be their friends and neighbors. It's inexcusable, no matter the mindset. Vent against the school board, not innocent kids that deserve to go to those schools as much as the more important kids of ES.

You should probably avoid the ES Community page. it is usually like that, regardless of topic. I've been wanting to move ever since I started reading comments from my neighbors. Put me in the country or the hood.

My mom bailed from that FB page after a couple of months, too many negative people berating each other or other neighbors.

Here's an update from an email sent out at 5:30:Thank you to everyone who has provided input into proposed elementary school attendance area changes. Your comments, concerns, and vision for your children matter to us.The School Attendance Area Committee set to work months ago to address overcrowding at Atascocita Springs and Eagle Springs elementary schools. The intent of the proposal was to reduce the use of portable classrooms and make best use of resources. The district is also building a new school due to concerns about enrollment growth. An important step in the process is sharing the proposal at Community Meetings and online. All community input is taken seriously.At this point, the district has chosen to slow down its boundary approval process in order to thoroughly factor in all input received. There will not be a recommendation regarding elementary attendance zone changes presented at the Dec. 13 School Board meeting. Rather, Humble ISD will take more time to look at options based upon community input. A proposal will be presented after Winter Break.Under strong consideration is allowing students who attend ASE and ESE in 2016-2017 to remain at the same school through the fifth grade. This is one of the options for which an analysis of impact must be conducted before attendance zone changes will be approved.The district intends to establish boundaries no later than the February School Board meeting. Humble ISD looks forward to continuing to work with parents and the community in meeting student needs.

quick notes. Probably round 50 or 60 people there. Sounded like several of them were at the Tuesday one also. New school will come equipped with playground stuff and all the technical gadgets so no need to wait on fundraisers. The new principal will have a plan where the students that are impacted by the move will be identified and help them in the transition. Around 50 kids that are moving to the new elementary will get bus transportation since they break the 2 mile mark. Seems like many were having a hard time understanding the scope of the project was to relieve ASE and ESE overcrowding by using the Groves. People kept saying use the Groves for Lakeshore since they are overcrowded or bus the Clayton Corner and Bridges kids there. Move every one else's kids but mine... However neither one fixes the ASE and ESE overcrowding. Also a big theme was "this is our neighborhood schools and other neighborhoods should have built their own schools." Hope they understand how schools are funded and just because they are in our neighborhood doesn't mean we have any control over them.
