Would they rather go to overcrowded schools?
@BusyMommy :
What I find hilarious is that ES peeps were concerned about overcrowding, now that it is being addressed, now they don't want their snowflakes 'bused' to the rough side of town, aka, The Groves.
Yes, I live in Claytons Corner. My kids got moved from ESE to ASE when it opened. Yes, we have to drive further now, when ESE is basically around the corner from us, but we got a good deal out of it. Great school, what I thought were good people, but now I'm seeing another selfish, entitled, self-centered side of them.
All in all, I think that if you live near a school, that is the one you should go to, period. This is HISD. The schools do not belong to Eagle Springs. They belong to the residents in this area.
If they were really concerned about overcrowding, bus some ES kids to Whispering Pines. That's what they want to do to us, because we are on the wrong side of the tracks.
We pay ISD taxes too. Our houses may not be as big, and yes, you may pay more in taxes than us, but we didn't choose the big house, you did. Our kids deserve to go the HISD schools also. If they happen to be located in your neighborhood, well, that's just the way it is. And no, Whispering Pines is not closer than ESE.
There is a prevalent entitlement attitude in ES. It has shown up on the ES community FB page and at the meeting last night. Not everyone, but if you weren't there, you didn't see it. Obviously, I'm not referring to all ES people. We know some great people from there, and some of them will be affected by this move too, and that sucks.
Pathetic.
