chasinghosts Chicago beef is the closest to Chicago pizza for me. I love deep dish but also love really thin pizza as well. I don't like Italian beef and never have. I can't even stand the smell... Growing up my parents would only make it once a year on New Years eve. Otherwise we would take a ride to Chicago and go to Mr. Beef and my parents would get Italian beef while I got pizza.
@Britsls : Wow, welcome Britsis! Great to have you on here. You're lucky your parents accomodated you. Mine would have said you eat what we eat or you don't eat most of the time. My Grandparents on the other hand would over endulge us. We love Chicago Beef, their pizza isn't bad, but we both love a Beef and it's just far enough that we only go every few months. There are times when they've made my life down here bearable. The only problem I've had with them is they used to add sugar to their bell peppers, now instead they aren't adding it (at least they didn't last time we went) and they are undercooking them. That's better than extra sugar any day though. Their fries are amazing. I used to like the Mr. Beef on Harlem, but I really prefer Johnny's on North Ave.. We had a great Rosati's for pizza.
