Wanted Felon Arrested in Atascocita After High-Speed Pursuit in East Harris County

On September 8, 2025, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office attempted to stop a motorcycle in the 5800 block of FM 1960 East. The driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit.
 
The suspect, identified as Joshua Gipson, eventually surrendered without incident. Upon arrest, he was found in possession of a loaded Glock 9mm and 1 gram of methamphetamine.
 
Further investigation revealed Gipson is a convicted felon with an active warrant out of Louisiana for Tax Evasion. He was also out on bond in Harris County for Assault.
 
Gipson was arrested and charged with:
Evading Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Felon in Possession of a FirearmOutstanding Warrants
 
He was booked into the Harris County Jail with a total bond set at $115,000.

@TortieMama : and add to that involved in a police pursuit on a motorcycle...Wrong in so many ways... It looks like he's hopefully going to be put away for something!!

In most places that bond is low but for Harris County looks different.

Great job by our boys in blue for getting him behind bars.
Is this the guy you want on the road with your wife, mother, children, etc. we're coming through the neighborhood while you're at the playground with your family. Good riddance.

@TortieMama : Bonds can't be punishment. You're innocent until proven guilty in court. To say a bond is a "deterrent" for future crime is a violation of the Constitution.
 
Imagine someone placed on a $10,000 bond and is found not guilty 2 years later.
 
Punishment comes later, or Innocents get caught up. It sucks from time to time.
