Discussion Summary:
In this forum discussion, KathyMarshall, a newcomer to Texas, asks for information about a Texas Short Stack Maple Loaf advertised in the HEB flyer. MrsT responds, saying that it is a type of pancake bread, which is dense like pound cake. When asked whether it is any good, MrsT admits that she does not remember what it tasted like but that she generally likes bread.
However, other forum members, such as dac2010, West-Tex, and Blackhorse77, express confusion about the product, with some even saying that they have never heard of it before. Dac2010 tries to research the item but finds that there is little information available, leading them to believe that it may be a regional or newly created product.
MrsT suggests that it is not a Texas-specific item, but rather a creative name used by HEB. She reveals that she has purchased the product before, which is why she knows what it is. When West-Tex googles the name, they find that HEB is indeed associated with the product.
Overall, the discussion sheds light on the limited information available about the Texas Short Stack Maple Loaf and highlights the varying levels of familiarity with the product among Texan residents.
@West-Tex : I tried googling it and everything is about HEB. It's not in my Joy of Cooking cook book either. I figure it might be something from the Hillcountry area or something they created or added Texas to the name.

It's not a Texas thing at all. I think HEB is just trying to be creative with the name. I bought this before and that's the only reason I even know what it is
