@sandman : I already signed up, but am a bit delayed by trying to figure out how to not disrupt my husband's preferred TV viewing. He has told me he doesn't want to have his box go away.

Why are they digging right where the water lines are? I asked and they explained that it was to see where they were. But then they put the green round tops right over the spot where water lines come from the meter. So, if a plumber needs to make a repair, they have to dig around it??

@texas2011 : I imagine their procedure has changed. I heard a tale, when they first started installing, that apparently, when they called that number to find out where the lines were- they were given the wrong information. And of course, chaos ensued. So, I imagine they've been told to check first. As to why their tops are going where they are, I don't know.

@Vinbert : Maybe because they don't want to dig twice? Just seemed weird that every house gets a digging session right in the area out of the water meter. Unless that's the best place where the properties connect.

@chasinghosts : I'm aware. However, in order to fully ditch Comcast, I would have to change our TV service, which he does not want. If I ditch Comcast Internet, I lose the "triple play" discount, and I'd end up paying more for the tv service then I already do. Tachus would also cost me more then my "discounted" Comcast internet. So between the two, it would raise what I'm paying for both.
So, therefore, I am trying to figure out a way to keep his TV service, and get Tachus, without paying even more then I already do.

@texas2011 : That seems like it could be a possibility. IDK, when they came through here, they were here and gone in hours. Put everything back nicely, and I don't see any of these green caps ...?

I use YouTubeTV as my TV provider. I can watch the same stuff in AK and here. I have GCI internet only in AK and xfinity here. Not worth it for me to switch to Tachus, but if I was keeping this home long term I would switch in a heartbeat.

But Mejico blocked YouTubeTV even though I was going thru VPN. So, I'm not happy about that.

@sandman : yeah, the problem is... he wants nothing to change on his TV. He wants the guide, he wants his X1 box, he wants no change whatsoever to his tv set up.

My wife was like that tooâ€¦ I put the xfinity streaming app on the Amazon tv for her to watch. Then I showed her YouTubeTV and a few weeks later I deleted the xfinity app and cancelled the cable service.

It can be doneâ€¦ you just need to be resourceful

@Vinbert : Yes, I'm in the same ish dilemma. If I get Tachus then where do I get phone service? If I get Roku which I plan to, I can just keep my Century link, but I really want to get rid of them and they're tied to the phone.

@Cbear : I was looking earlier and it looks like they offer MyBundleTV. for streaming TV. I'm assuming computer streaming too. I don't want to get on their "list", but wonder if anyone has gotten a quote for the MyBundleTV. Curious how much it would end up costing.
