Does NASA really measure things by alligators? And how could they do that. An alligator could be 4 feet long or 8 feet long or 10 feet long. That doesn't even make any sense and 69 of them? How about 73 of them that's not measuring

@Maxsmom : NASA is reporting that the asteroid is coming close by the Earth. It is the reporting media that is measuring the distance in Alligators, sensational reporting at its finestâ€¦.
Personally in my career managing alligators they're not a threat till they get about 15 feet from you.
