According to reports from PCT 4, on May 7, 2019, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to an assisted living center located in the 5500 block of Atascocita Road in reference to an employee who injured an elderly resident.

Upon deputies arriving, the manager stated that when she arrived to work she was advised of an injury report that occurred the previous night.

While reviewing video surveillance of the incident, she observed an employee, Katiuscia Martinez (43, Atascocita), approach a 88 year old woman who was sitting in a chair and forced her to stand up then assaulted her and pushed her to the ground.

When the victim fell, she hit her head and Katiuscia Martinez was observed to stand there without any urgency to help the victim. The victim received minor swelling to the back of her head from the fall.

I sick of hearing about these trashy people abusing the elderly in homes. They need to make a example out of this woman if its true.

It takes a really low life to assault an elderly person for any reason. Target, huh?

Makes me want to go into Target and go through her line if she's working...just so I can say "Oh, you're the lady who beat up the poor defenseless elderly person"...and say it loudly. I hate this kind of crap.

Before moving to Houston I was a nail tech who spent several days a week for several years doing nail care for the elderly. I worked in a retirement home salon as well as going into their individual homes and apartments. It was far from glamorous but I loved my little old people. I was the only person many of my clients saw on a regular basis. They looked forward to our visits. I can't imagine how anyone could ever be anything but nice to the elderly. Some were somewhat difficult to deal with but we all are sometimes.
