No kings day

I don't participate in the shenanigans but happy for everyone that does.

I read that the air Force member that help the sign to impeach trump is being held in solitary confinement for the last two months.

Honor your freedoms, there are those who would like to take them away!!!

Well, He did do so in full uniform.
Would be a whole different story if he was in his civilian clothing.

I cannot participate this time but my son and I have marched in the *No Kings March" twice before. However, my heart is with whoever goes out there today to let Trump know that we still have a democracy and will always keep it. We are not communist Russia or China but free Americans who still have the right to voice our opinions. It's time to stop the insanity.

ParksideRes : yes, but punishment before conviction must h be consistent with penalty of conviction; solitary confinement isn't on the list for a minor crime. Kick his *** out, demote him, or 60 days in the brig.

That may be. We also don't know what else he may have done after.

* Found more. Apparently he did television interviews as well and refused to report to duty.

The Left isn't protesting a king but their fellow Americans. They aren't standing up for democracy - they are protesting against it. They seem to have forgotten that Donald Trump was democratically elected with a popular majority. The 'No Kings' rallies are mostly a protest against a man who sought power three times through democratic elections and enacted his major agenda item by majority vote of democratically elected members of Congress. Some King.

It's difficult to think of a more effective way to illustrate the moral and intellectual emptiness of the American left than to have them march around demanding an end to an institution our founding fathers abolished 250 years ago.

Andi7 : He's actually doing most of it through sycophants placed in high places, executive orders (300 already) and just flat out ignoring laws and court orders.
Congress has barely done anything, and a lot of what they have done is detrimental to those that elected them.

Is there a term for political stockholm syndrome?

Just think, if Obama didn't spend over 20% of his 2011 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner speech bashing Trump none of this would of ever happened 😉

ParksideRes : The use of executive orders and strategic appointments is a legal and necessary mechanism to fulfill campaign promises and overcome congressional gridlock. They maintain that these actions fall within the constitutional authority of the executive branch and are intended to implement policy efficiently. Of course determinations regarding whether specific executive orders comply with or ignore existing laws continue to be challenged and litigated through the federal court system.

Andi7 : All from someone who promised to not use them, in fact wanted to end them

" I want to do away with executive orders for the most part"

And criticized Obama's numbers. He's written 150% more in two years than Obama did in 8 years.

Also he promised to never play golf. 287 golf days first term. 135 so far this term.

Political Stockholm Syndrome indeed.

Polls are dropping into the 20s. Hey! He beat Biden! Even he didn't drop that low.

ParksideRes : He never promised not to use executive orders. He did however want to use his power as a deal maker to get things done but we all know how slow Congress works.

We thought these institutions for abolished 250 years ago. With the Congress and the supreme Court bowing down to Trump, it seems like there is only one branch in control and therefore he thinks he's King.

AMCLady : I would rather see Congress work with the presidents than always fighting against them. With this president it seems to me when the Democrats are the majority, they spend most of the people's time trying so hard to take him down. I have a real problem with that kind of power in Congress. It's such a waste.
