@eighteen : Any time I hear a crazy story passed around I wonder the validity of it. A woman the day was all worked up because her kid told her there were no doors on the bathroom stalls at khs or kms. It was the outside door into the bathroom. 🙄

On rereading that it sounds like both schools, I really just can't remember which one it was. 😂

@MrsT : It's true. Police met up with bus. A couple parents blocked the bus so the kids could get off. Apparently the driver was having a breakdown.

@Maxsmom : I'm not saying some version of it isn't true, but I'll hold judgement until I hear from more than just the grapevine.

This is what I'm understanding:
..The bus driver returned a full busload of kids to the school because someone was rowdy, as per protocol that Luannski (from the KDC thread about this) stated.
..Kids called parents because the bus driver wasn't taking them home. Panic ensues.
..Once back at the school, school admin assessed the situation and instructed the bus driver to take the bus load of kids back to the route and drop them off at their regular bus stops. It seems safe to assume that admin did not see a bus driver in the midst of a mental breakdown.
..While driving through the neighborhood on the route to drop kids at bus stops, parents surround the bus in their vehicles and cut off the bus driver, they force the bus to stop in the middle of a roadway, start pulling kids off of the bus and telling them to jump out of the emergency exits.
..Bus driver is now demonized because they freaked out about being surrounded and cut off by an angry mob of random irate adults who are demanding to remove kids from the bus? Isn't the bus driver's job to protect the kids from just such an event?What info am I missing?

@Sammee : To be honest I think a lot of parents here are so totally off their rockers they will never understand about normalcy. Firstly there was a bus driver about 2 years ago that almost died on her bus because some kid was spraying perfume and knew she had asthma. It was probably the same girl. Either way if they cause a ruckus they should head back to school and be picked up there. Sounds like Admin was not there mentally to deal with the situation.

I am just not an overreacting kind of person like this, but I have known those who are.

@Sammee : Me either. People absolutely lose their 💩 immediately. Throwing out words like kidnapping. 🙄 I never make snap judgements based on stuff strangers say on the internet.
I also know kids overact themselves and if something sounds far-fetched it's probably not what it seems.

But seriously, parents should always try to diffuse the chaos, not escalate it. Who were they to order others children off of the bus? I'm sure there are some parents unhappy about that. The audacity is just crazy to me.

Why didn't school administrators immediately begin calling parents once the bus had gone back to the school?As a parent of a middle school bus rider, I'd be livid if my son texted/called me in a panic about something like this happening on his bus, and the school just tells the bus driver to continue the route!Sounds like the district needs to come up with a plan in case this sort of thing happens again. Hell, they could have quickly texted the entire district and said that bus XYZ will be an hour late due to a disciplinary issue.

@AlettertoElise : So true, the district has the ability to send a mass text, and so does each campus. A mass text pertaining to KMS Parents could have, and probably should have been sent out upon the bus returning back to campus.
