Been to Hippo once.. Good food, but expensive. Tita's Taco House just down the street, across from the radio station (look for the tower), is inexpensive and they now serve Flan (Chocolate and Strawberry daily). They open at 5AM in the morning. I'm hooked.

Expensive? You can make 2 meals out of one burger. I find that the quality of food you get is amazing at that price. 5 guys isn't as good, and is more expensive.

Slightly higher than Sonic, Whataburger or Culvers but tastes so much better. You can actually taste the meat, it doesnâ€™t taste like a ground beef patty, it tastes like chopped beef.

@Littlegoo I probably "should" make two meals out of it, but it tastes so darn good I just eat the whole thing!!

Iâ€™m small and I usually eat junior size burgers and make 2-3 meals out of Chinese delivery food but I ate that avocado burger and Cajun fries in one setting, it was just too good to stop. Man... now I want one again!!!

I had my first today. Excellent burger and fries. Meat is seasoned perfect and cooked well. My only comment - I prefer leaf lettuce and ring cut onions rather than the chopped. Also, I prefer bun to be toasted to the point of a "crunch" when you bite. (same as breakfast toast).

At the price, they do have a healthy margin for this product. Just shows that people will pay for quality.

When is a good time to go for lunch? Right at 11? I think hubs and I may try to go on Friday as its his day off.

@AlettertoElise 11 is good. We went yesterday around 11:40 and were about 4 people in front us, right around 12 line was out of the door

This is great news for the owners. With all of the business they're getting, maybe they will be able to move to a bigger location and expand. I love seeing a local Mom and Pop place succeed.

OK ! I just got back from Hippo Burger and I have 3 things to say:

1. Thank you @Lace for starting this thread.
2. The Monster Hippo is ridiculous, but I had to order it.
3. I am glad this is far enough away that I wont go daily.
