HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A cold north wind continues to blow over Houston, and that will push temperatures down to the mid 30s overnight. When you factor in the wind, it will feel like it's in the mid 20s at 7 a.m.! The cold wind will continue blowing at 10-20 mph Friday, but enough sunshine will win out over the clouds to warm us back into the 50s.
How much colder will it get behind this front?
Friday and Saturday mornings will be our coldest with lows in the mid 30s, but we cannot completely rule out a light freeze north of Houston.
Will chilly temperatures continue through the weekend?
Saturday will start cold in the 30s then warm into the 50s for the afternoon. Sunday will start cool in the 40s but warm up well into the 70s during the afternoon.
What about the weather for Presidents Day?
If you have a long weekend with Presidents Day on Monday, you will see a warm end to your weekend. Temperatures could reach 80 degrees in most neighborhoods with dry weather under a partly sunny or mostly cloudy sky. The warm weather may continue for most of next week. A brief shower or sprinkle is also possible, but most will stay dry.
