Harris County Sheriff's Office dismantles East Harris County "Chop Shop"

Harris County Sheriff's Office Auto Theft, District 3 Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), and Precinct 3 Constables Office dismantled a chop shop in East Harris County this week.

They recovered 5 stolen vehicles, a stolen engine & numerous vehicle parts valued at approximately $600K!

Three suspects were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity & are believed to be connected to several other chop shops. It is common for stolen vehicles to be taken to chop shops to be dismantled and sold for parts.

@AtascocitaDotCom : Some just never learn . How can they believe that they aren't going to get caught . And these same people have kids they need to be an example for . Well after your dad does time in Prison what do you think the children are likely going to be like . How much teasing about their dad being a jail bird ? The children no mater how good the mother might be are almost always effected in a negative way .

those look like chebby's .. how do they get around the location tracking of the onstar ? i know its dead once the battery is pulled but seems like they would have driven it there ...

@ginx : if the owner doesnt have the onstar hooked up then the gps isnt going to work. i have onstar on my car at 40 dollars a month. its worth it to me as a senior if i have a breakdown.
