Residential Home Owners will pay the price. Please keep in mind that Home Owners are assessed 100% to 125% value of their homes. Commercial Property Owners are assessed at 45% to 65%. Not to mention that companies like Walmart and Amazon usually get a waiver on all property taxes when they move into an area. When you look at the tax waivers from the big corporations and the deficit tax assessed value on the commercial side you see who will get stuck with the lions share of the tax bill.
Additionally, places of worship like your local church also do not pay any property taxes.
