@Cbear : I just left there Sunday. Didn't change a thing once back here and reading about all the crazies.

@Cbear: Oh, Destin used to be where we would go, but it was too far for a weekend. We have a couple of gulf-front homes in Treasure Island, about 25 miles from Galveston; it's about 90 miles from here. It's a small community that has grown way too much; we bought one about 25 years ago, and the other about 5 years later, next door.

Cbear: Oh, Destin used to be where we would go, but it was too far for a weekend. We have a couple of gulf-front homes in Treasure Island, about 25 miles from Galveston; it's about 90 miles from here. It's a small community that has grown way too much; we bought one about 25 years ago, and the other about 5 years later, next door.

@ladybeachbum : For sure Destin is a week long destination. We usually plan 10 days since it takes 1 to get there and 1 more to get home.

@Cbear : When my Goddaughter and I would go it took about 7 hours but that was in the Corvette and just the two of us. i have taken her and the 4 kids several times but that took way longer. We always had fun and would rent a nice condo that had things to do there. I didn't like the water there because I know my area and the boys were too adventurist for me. Three boys and one girl plus mine.

@ladybeachbum : It takes us about 10 hours from driveway to destination with all the stops that we make.
