@ParksideRes : That is so scary how something can be destroyed in a matter of seconds. From the videos and pictures I have seen, Florida received a massive amount of storm damage.
@ParksideRes : That just makes me sick to my stomach. So much destruction in such a small amount of time. I totally understand it but It is hard to see. Praying for all.
Reminds me of Ike, but this looks worse and Ike damage was so terrible. I can't even imagine. These are definitely the days where see all of us come together to help regardless of your differences.
The destruction is so terrible. Seeing people posting tictoks during the storm I have never seen anything like it. I saw a man that had decided to ride it out on his house boat realize he made a huge mistake start tearing up saying his goodbyes to I am guessing his children and grandchildren it was heartbreaking. I keep hoping I see him and he's fine.
my grandson was born in sarasota and we visited most those areas. sharkys on the pier restaurant is still standing it looks like it has some damage but they will be coming back. its a restaurant and its in venice. we went to sanibel in 2016 and i took a lot of pictures it was a beautiful. there were some huge mansions and i wonder how they survived. we were hoping to go back next year . i hope when they rebuild they should not build right on the beach. there are also private beaches and who is going to rebuild them. i hope that common sense will prevail going forward. the picture that has stuck with me was a picture of a huge boat that was wedged between 2 houses.

We will see at least one of these devastating storms every year due to the increasing temps of the ocean waters. $$billions$$ of rebuild every year. Not only loss of lives, but think of all the lumber/building supplies/appliances/cars/home items going into landfills then needing replacement in an already stressed supply system we are under. Seems like people should reconsider where they live. We can't sustain this.
