We've been to the one on North Park but it's been awhile and I forgot what the specials are.

The website shows they are open until midnight.

@texas2011 :

I can't believe they are opened this late. Good to know...for that late night sweet snack. 😋

We went last night. Cookies were huge. They were good, but nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth the $12 (tip included) for four cookies.

@TheBoz : Tip? Never heard of tipping at a bakery. How much effort does it take to put a few cookies in a bag? Do they have a tip jar? What's next tip the bakery lady at HEB or the Seafood guy , or the deli person? It's no wonder waitresses can barely make anything if you tip anybody and everybody. They don't make minimum wage, and they bust their **** for their tips.

@chasinghosts :

When you swipe your card...they ask if you want to include a tip. My first time was today...but no tip came from me. The cookies were delicious though. Emoticon

@West-Tex : Thanks WT and thanks for all the tips lately. You're a doll. But that's nuts, on top of $3+ for a cookie, that would be a hard pass for the average joe.

@chasinghosts : It's nuts to me too. They do that at many of these slightly pricey dessert shops. In fact, it seems anywhere I'm checking out now, aside from the established typical grocery stores and retailers, I'm being asked to tip. Often the suggested tip is 15-20%. I'm not sure I understand since that is what servers are supposed to get who are only making $2.13 an hour.

@seegee : It's greed. They wouldn't have to claim tips, as it's not in their job description and if it goes on a card at a place like this (which it shouldn't) then the owner is probably getting them and keeping them. Shame on them for scamming or guilting people into tipping them. Servers do an aweful lot besides run their tails off for their tips. They don't just work the tables, they do alot of prep and clean up as well. Those hours used for such things aren't tipped out.

@West-Tex : Did they have iced sugar cookies? That's about the only cookie I'd pay $3 for. I'd rather have my Marble Slab ice cream in a white chocolate cone. That's about $5. I can easily make cookies but those cones are so good.

@West-Tex : I definitely do not need to tell DH these are readily available. He'd have no problem paying whatever for them. It would be better to just eat one than a batch, right?

DD went and got 6 different flavors. I liked the raspberry cheesecake and the birthday cake ones. It took me two evenings to eat one cookie, they're so huge. It's good that they're expensive, that will stop me from going so often.

@chasinghosts : I did not notice if there is a tip jar on the counter or not. I usually don't carry cash. When you swipe card, it asks you if you want to leave a tip. It lets you choose a percentage and calculates the tip amount for you to approve. Tipping is voluntary. It is a personal preference. I'm sure the job entails more than putting a few cookies in a bag. Sure, they get paid minimum wage. I, on the other hand, make way more than minimum wage. I do pick and choose when I tip. For counter service, I usually tip 5%. I don't know the company policy of how the tips are distributed. I doubt the owner keeps them. If the employees didn't get the tips, I don't think they would accept that. I wouldn't. I would be all over social media *****ing about it. Probably even taking legal action. As for the wait staff, I am a 20% or more tipper. Good service usually gets them 30%.

The way God intended the chocolate chip cookie to be. 😀

and the sugar cookie was ice cold.

I think they're called "chilled" sugar cookies, so probably intentional?
