@TexanFan1 : You can see the nail on the other birdhouse. They are really long and I can take the houses down to clean them out once they are not in use anymore.

@Andi7 : I guess if I go to Ace Hardware they can show me the right nails to go into brick. I would love to provide a home and have some neighbors!!

@TexanFan1 : I used these and they worked great. I've got a whole bunch so, I can give you some if you'd like. I can hang some in a baggie on the side of my mailbox.

You can use Concrete nails or masonry nails which are cheaper than concrete nails & are less likely to break & bend .

@TexanFan1 : Plastic Anchors will not loosen like nails.

@Astrokatz : The nails I used have never loosened on me. So, I can vouch for them.

@Andi7 : I did not say yours loosened or knocking what you did. From years of mounting things on multiple surfaces I found that a nail is only as tight as what it is attached to. Example, you pound the nail into the "mortar" between the bricks, you are pounding into a base of hardened sand. Now after time and moving the nail will hollow out the hole it is in like a file. Eventually the hole gets large enough to let the nail be loose and fall out. By using an expansion type anchor, it works by expanding tight enough to wedge the screw tight in the hole and stay that way.

@Astrokatz : I have used expansion-type anchors for things that have more weight to them. These birdhouses are feather-light, the nails never get movement enough to loosen them. Plus, the key I have found when using nails for these is to angle them downward as opposed to straight in. Thanks for the info!

@Andi7 : Lol! When I initially read the title, I thought you were talking about some wealthy person's (such as George Strait) real estate!!! Love the bird house ..... so cute .... and so are the new tenants! Emoticon

@LeverageShowFan : Hey, these little guys got all the luxury around here. My neighbors have a bird feeder and there are plenty of bugs out for them. I know about the bugs because WOW, they are getting a feast of them today! Huge ones at that!
