Because of the expense of insurance, so many people can't afford it. This is so sad and why many go across the border, yet millions get free insurance here. ER time
@Carol888 : no one says you have to pay all your medical bills at once. I'm still paying off two ambulance companies, one of them from over 10 years ago, that I send them just $1.50 A month! The other one I send $5 a month. They haven't touched my credit and I'll be dead before either one is paid off. I also have arrangements to pay for several ER visits and hospitalizations and surgery pay no more than $25 a month
