Lake Houston Parkway has been closed since June 30th, when a pickup truck crashed through the front of the business. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the driver was attempting to park when his foot slipped from the brake onto the accelerator. The truck entered the bakery and struck 19-year-old employee Zion Branch, who was working near the front counter. Branch died at the scene. Other people were also evaluated for injuries, including a customer who was transported to a hospital.Following the crash, Nothing Bundt Cakes said its priority was supporting Branch's family, those who were injured, the bakery's owners and employees, and everyone affected by the tragedy.
