Atascocita Fire Department Responds to Surge in Outdoor Fires
Over the past week or so the Atascocita Fire Department has responded to numerous outdoor fires across the Atascocita area. Due to an extended period of dry hot days since Labor day, we are experiencing an above average propensity for grass fires. These dry conditions are not expected to end in the near future. Please practice extreme caution during any activities that could pose a potential risk of an outdoor fire.
Don't Be the Reason for Fire Season!
If you're planning on burning debris this fall, let's keep the flames under control.
Check the Weather: Windy days are great for kites, not for debris burning.
Clear the Area: 10 feet of cleared space around your burn pile = less chance of "uh-oh" moments.
Stay Close : Keep an eye on your fire like it’s your favorite Netflix series—don’t let it go wild!
Hose Ready, Always Steady: Have water and a shovel on standby.
Know the Rules: Follow local burn bans and regulations.
Let's make sure the only lit thing this season is your pumpkin spice candle!
Stay safe this fall!
