I hope all the people that were criticizing the Police will apologize, probably not….. sometimes you have to keep information close to the best so as not to tip off the bad guy. Solid police work.

@Smokeybear :

The problem in my opinion is that people expect complex investigations to be solved like the ones on TV. Within an hour the perp has been jailed and sent up the river. Unfortunately, the real world of criminal investigation does not work that way. It can take months or years to solve a crime.

Similar to you, I hate it when people say law enforcement isn't "doing anything". Just because they don't know the intricacies of the case doesn't mean nothing is being accomplished. In any event I'm glad an arrest has been made in this case. Now whether they are actually guilty is to be determined.

I can't wait to find out what the motive would be to kill those four people.

Agreed. We all know how the victims' families are suffering and more emotional than they are rational.
So we can forgive them for criticizing the police. And there were some legitimate concerns about the experience of the local police. But everyone else armchair quarterbacking needed to realize that it takes a lot of time. And DNA testing takes time. I hope they have a lot of that to go on. The arrest is actually quicker than I thought it would be.

@AMCLady : Only a whack job would've done that. His motive was probably he woke up in a bad mood.

I'm confused about the part of this story where he used the phone of the surviving girls to report someone passed out drunk. Someone refresh my memory??

@rocket : I agree with the "solving in an hour " part. Criminals are getting smarter at hiding their tracks so things may take longer in tracking them down.

Hopefully the news conference at 3 our time will shed some light. But they might not share much yet.

Suspect is "a PhD graduate student in the criminal justice and criminology department in Pullman, Washington." So, maybe someone obsessed with violence/murder and maybe even a revenge against the main victim Kaylee. Sometime these weirdos can't handle rejection. Apparently he didn't act too surprised when he was arrested.

@Lace : It was reported that there was a lot of confusion that afternoon when everyone else in the house woke up. The person finding the bodies might have passed out, and they were all probably dazed and confused, and grabbing phones to call for help. It was odd that 911 wasn't called first, but these are partying kids and we all know how that goes.
