10 Famous People Who Have Graves In Texas

Texas is a breeding ground for famous people. Many successful folks come out of the Lone Star State even close to home. Did you know that Steve Martin lived in Abilene at one time and had a house out in Fairway Oaks? From actors to athletes, there's a bunch of talent that comes from Texas. Unfortunately, it's also the final resting place for many of these famous people.

Mac Davis
This popular country singer, songwriter, and actor from Lubbock county is well known throughout Texas.

Mac Davis hailed from Lubbock, Texas. And it's to Lubbock that he returned to be buried. In death, the songwriter and actor will fulfill a verse of his song "Texas In My Rearview Mirror." The verse goes, "And when I die you can bury me in Lubbock, Texas in my jeans."

Buddy Holley
A musician born in Lubbock, Buddy Holley was well known for hits such as "Peggy Sue" and "Rave On". He was killed in a plane crash on February 3rd, 1959 along with Ritchie Valens and disc jockey "The Big Bopper".

I think my teenager would know Alice, and she'd definitely recognize Hoss. We were faithful Bonanza watchers for years when she was little. They show reruns on a couple of the OTA stations here. Brady Bunch always aired at inopportune times, so she didn't get as much exposure.
