@ginx : VERY close to it. The best steak I've ever had in my life was grilled on a grate like this, mounted over a hole in the ground, filled with wood. The grate was mounted over the wood fire very similar to this. I will never forget that steak. Like a drug addict, I've been chasing that flavor for over 40 years.

OOOOHHHH, I remember you posting this!!!!

@ginx : Off loaded them off the transport, set them in the campsites, and cleaned them annually. Oh, and I've eaten mighty fine meals off them to boot. Best to get a hot fire under them, and take a wire brush to it, and you're good to go. Never know what was cooked on it before you…..

I wire brushed the **** out of it then go it raging .. the grate is set up to high foe my liking with the wind off the lake. I set up tree bark strips to block the wind and allow the heat to rise directly as opposed to being wafted toward the end of the grate . Mission accomplished

As a Boy Scout in the 70's we cooked on some crazy stuff. Probably reason I never get sick. Immune to almost everything including Eboli, rabies and coronavirus.
