I believe Montgomery County is the same as Harris County. or similar. Because if someone from HC moves to MC ruled follow the dog.
1. if the dog is deemed Dangerous, she will have to build an enclosure with concrete flooring and an enclosed top and very sturdy. The dog can only go from house to encloser and back to the house. She has to have one million dollar insurance and buy all the signs and collars. The dog cannot leave the house without an orange collar that says danger dog and a muzzle. Plus pay boarding and fines for Rabies quarantine. All this gets inspected yearly. I doubt she can afford all this.
She will have 30 days to get all this ready for the dog. If she cannot get it ready, the court will order the dog to be euthanized.
2. If it is deemed vicious.....it is euthanized.
in HC not many dogs are deemed vicious. But there have been a lot of DD that have to be euthanized because owners cannot afford the costs.
BTW, not all dogs are really dangerous. Some of these dogs are the nicest dogs ever and scratched someone, or barked and scared them. But the victim doesn't like the breed or their neighbor, so they file a civil suit against them.
Some of the sweetest dogs have been euthanized because they were deemed dangerous. There is a HC judge that deems every pit dangerous just because he can.
