Fujiya

We were craving it today for lunch, website unavailable for ordering, no answer on phone, so I hopped on Yelp and read a recent review that they closed and are serving takeout from Tai Li, but no Japanese food or sushi. Bummer! Anyone know for sure?

Guess we'll have to give Ginger Cafe a try (hush, @sandman ).

So many local restaurants closing.

@brightlights : They are owned by the same folks at Tai Li; but they're not doing sushi during covid to be safe. They are wonderful folks and we love their sushi; much more than the one by Italianos but hoping they all survive this mess.

@TheCatsMeow : Yes, I know them very well...same folks who used to run 838 ran Fujiya.

Wazabi is pretty darned good, too. Johnny and Michele run a tight ship! They just have weird hours now.

@brightlights : They aren't bad either. I think Ginger is good because it's small and fairly unknown and tucked away. It truly is the big surprise that comes in small packages.

The best sushi by far is Wazabi Sushi Bar. It is a family owned business, and we need to support them. He doesn't use just any ole fish, he gets the best of the best!

@pboros11 : Wasabi has the best Poke! It's called Island Poke. So delicious! And yes, Johnny gets super fresh fish. Theirs and 838/Fujiya's are the freshest within a 40 mile radius, imo!
