Hurricane season takes a short break, but the USA faces a new burst of activity in October, as an MJO wave is incoming from the west

Sorry @ladybeachbum. As a fellow coastal property owner myself, I hope this doesn't come true!

@Vodkatini : That was informational for sure. I would never say it's over just from our history.
Did you have any damage? I sure hope not but with the Strand flooding, I was worried for you.
I'm hoping it is over but our history says probably not.

There were hurricanes in October
Since 2010, there have been four U.S. landfalling hurricanes in October, including one in each of the past three years. That is actually higher than the total amount of landfalling hurricanes in both August and September, which both have had three since 2010 .Michael 2018, Matthew 2016, Sandy 2012, Google

@ladybeachbum : Thank you. Ours was fine. It's close to the seawall. I don't think I would have the fortitude to repeatedly deal with what you are. Sounds like a "groundhog day" nightmare. 🙁

@Vodkatini : so do you own a condo or a store? I would love to live in one of those loft apts above a store in the Strand. Maybe retirement.

@Vodkatini : Nice!! A couple of years ago I spent a week at the Galvez. I walked down to the Strand, not knowing how far it was. 😳🙂

On the way back I stopped at the Tremont House and asked for a ride back. 😂😂😂 They were sooooooooo nice!

👍I think Tremont & Galvez are under same ownership. I thought we would hear sirens all the time here but its pretty quiet.

@Vodkatini : they are! They are both Wyndham properties. My hubby & I had stayed at the Tremont House before. It's nice too, but it doesn't have a pool. So that's why I stayed at the Galvez.

@TexanFan1 : I've fallen in that drunken trap. Except it was Strand to Seawall.

@TexanFan1 : Oh, well... it was a nice quiet evening. I even got to hear the infamous Galveston bugler who recently passed.

@Vodkatini : I hope this is wrong. At least here we start getting cool fronts about once a week in October so those should hopefully protect us. Looking forward to the cool front this coming week.
