@Kemibe : I know. That's because Kingwood tried to take over. I always remember it as Atasca Oaks because that's where I ran my first red light in the 90s. New driver, minimal traffic, life was great and the light was brand new. Little did I know that a new light = expansion.

Lol, early 90's-same here. I was living in Humble ( new subdivision @ the time) and it's totally changed since I lived there. Crazy. The traffic is already busy @ this intersection but we shall see; it's here and we're stuck with it so here we go!

I still laugh anytime someone on this side of the river says they live in Kingwood.
Everyone knows that land is commercial land. What arrives is anyone's guess.

@BusyMommy : I always say Humble since it's my physical address since 2013.

Moved here in 1987, always used Atascocita has my address! 2 Different muds. Now I live in Atascocita but it is COH, sucks but such is life.

I always wrote Humble and never considered that side of the river Kingwood.

Damn.. my boyfriend was right.. nobody over here knows where they live!! I told him that is why we are known as H K A. When people ask where I live I just say Humble. If I get further into the question I get told I live in Atascocita. I'm like yes, I know but my address is Humble.

@Sammee : yes, most of the homes lakefront are COH. However (I think) they do not have city water or sewer, just the MUD.

I've lived here since the 70s. We always referred anything to the South of Lake Houston as Humble / North of the Lake as Kingwood, East of the Lake as Huffman and to the West was Spring. After you've said Humble and if they knew the area, then you'd say which neighborhood you lived and Atascocita was considered a neighborhood because there was only a handful of them. You know who's lived here since that time because that's how we still refer to the area. Those that are new, will say they are from Atascocita.
