Shaking Hands..

Lately I have had several restaurant staff insist on shaking my hand - either entering or leaving...

I oblige only not to be rude - but is seems very creepy and nasty - - how many people does that person contact especially if they shake hands with everyone and all those nose picking, crotch scratching germs just transferred to my hand. Seems completely gross - and I feel obliged to a very thorough hand scrubbing.

Am I the only one that finds this inappropriate???

I don't recall any restaurant staff trying to shake my hand upon arrival. If they ever do, I'll just pull the old, "Sorry. I'm just getting over the coronavirus. *cough cough*"

Unless you are my family member or a really close friend, DON'T TOUCH ME! I never feel the need to grab ahold of another person as a greeting or goodbye gesture. Until you know a handshake or hug is welcome, please respect other people's personal space.

@redneckroy : I have had the same thoughts about it. There is a Mexican restaurant on the SW side we frequented and the owner always wanted to shake hands. I started carrying hand sanitizer with me.
