I love in the Trails and we have asked for speed bumps for years because of speeding drivers. We keep being told we can't get them.

I was in a neighborhood in New Braunfels this weekend and they had speed bumps. I thought it was strange because I always hear you can't have them for emergency purposes.

@lynnsgirl : They probably are because he's not 18 but I am guessing the homeowner's insurance will pay. I won't even take the insurance off my truck and my son old Volvo until they are sold because if someone steals them, we are most likely responsible.

Speed bumps don't work. Those that go fast keep going fast and sail right over them. They only punish the good people with suspension replacements frequently.Speed humps are what is needed. A correctly sized hump will allow you to go over at a moderate speed. Go too fast and it'll throw the butt of your vehicle in the air.

@lynnsgirl : If the kid is under 18, sure do. It's so ridiculous that anyone wouldn't teach their kid how to be safe, especially if they don't have insurance just because of the liability.

One thing though, he may have insurance and didn't have his card, or didn't know where it was. A possibility so we might not want to be on here saying he doesn't have it.

@chasinghosts : The police can look up the license and know if you have insurance. When my son's car broke down, the Humble police called me because I was the contact on the insurance to let me know they were towing it.

@ladybeachbum : Yes, I know this because my son tows. What I don't know is where the info that he didn't have insurance came from originally.
